Thomson East Coast Line (TEL) is another major north south MRT line which will connect Johor Bahru to the north and the city and east coast area to the south. Guiding by Land Transport Authority, the 43km long TEL line will have a total of 31 stations and run starting from Woodlands North to come south along the way to Thomson, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Toa Payoh, Orchard, Central Business District, and turning east at Gardens by the Bay, before continuing eastwards along East Coast.
The TEL line is a joint line between the Thomson Line and the Eastern Region Line. It will strengthen the connectivity and resilience of our rail network. The East Coast stretch will have 9 stations: Tanjong Rhu, Katong Park, Amber, Marine Parade, Marine Terrace, Siglap and Bayshore, all ready by 2023. And Bedok South and Sungei Bedok, by 2024. The 43km TEL will add 31 new stations to the existing rail network, with 7 interchange stations, which will link to the East-West Line, North-South Line, North-East Line, Circle Line and the Downtown Line.
