Sembawang Sports and Community Hub

The SSCH will be located in a park setting by the former Admiralty House (a national monument), whose rich heritage will continue to be preserved and built upon. It will include a sports complex, hawker centre, primary care centre, eldercare centre, park and community club. These will provide opportunities for more social interaction, active living and inter-generational bonding among residents of Sembawang. Here are four key features (Source: Sport Singapore)

  • Greenery

The SCCH Hub will incorporate the greenery of the area and is expected to include an adventure park, forest trails and community gardens. Though about 200 of the 761 trees now in the area are expected to be removed to make way for development, another 1,000 trees will be planted at the hub.

  • Water

A swimming pool will be built as part of the hub, and is expected to incorporate the natural greenery and rustic setting of the surroundings.

  • Health

The hub will include medical facilities, providing services such as medical care and health screenings as well as senior car centre, which will provide services such daycare, and physiotherapy and occupational therapy for elderly.

  • Food

The first hawker centre in the hub will have improved ventilation from its high ceiling, as well as other features such as energy-efficient lighting, water-saving fittings nd food waste recycling. It will also have family friendly features such as nursing rooms and child-friendly toilet facilities.

Upon completion of Sembawang Sports and Community Hub, residents can expect a swimming pool set amid lush greenery, forest trails, a gym, community gardens and an eco-friendly hawker centre, with energy-efficient lighting, water-saving features as well as nursing and diaper changing rooms for young families.
